RE-ENACTMENT

Note, Henry sadly died on 23rd February 2012, RIP.

One of our Roman period specialists, Henry Wall, goes one step further by being a re-enactment enthusiast.  This is a type of role-play where participants attempt to recreate aspects of Roman life in Britain.  Henry enjoys doing re-enactment partly because it's fun but also because it helps him with historical research as to why the Romans did things the way they did.  For example, it helps to answer questions like, "why did they wear their sword on the right side if they had to use it right handed?" or "why was most of the armour from the waste up?"
