 Assembled are the advance party of Alex, Georgina, Mike, Christine & Paul at
the farm in less than clement weather. They went off to the site & tried
vainly to locate the previous datum point, which had disappeared. In the end they took a measure off the
stile & remaining peg. Two trenches were then laid out & turf cut but
not lifted. These were positioned in the hope that they avoided trench 3 from
the 2010 dig (checking last years photos shows an overlap of approx 1
metre with the new trench closest to the fence). In the end the weather got the
